[ text post ] Write me a letter / Write it today

texts. texts from last night. sexting. angry angsty texts.
just leave me short, simple things to respond to during commute hours.

[ what's with all the yelling? ]

Nothing!

Nothing important, I hope. It's a box I found on the last ship we boarded, I was trying to oil the lock to get it open and grabbed the superglue instead.

Did she also require sleep? I discovered that is often the case.

It is not the timeline that is fixed but rather personality. The negotiations will go the way they do because of the persuasion and engagement one brings, regardless of the preparation prior. Though preparation is vital, but sometimes better left in the hands of those who have the time to dedicate to the minute of the matters.

It would defeat the purpose of shore leave, Captain. But more hands is never amiss.

She was exhausted, but she would've stayed up for my benefit if I let her. I'm lucky to have her. Everyone was tired, but I am Captain. It's my responsibility when push comes to shove. And besides, Humans keel over quicker than Trill.

[Most of that was true, at least, she cared deeply for her officers and would rather suffer herself than let them when there was no need. It was debatable if Trill had more endurance than Humans, but at least in this case she wasn't lying. Stubbornness was one hell of a stimulant.]

I just don't want to get it wrong. So many things have gone poorly of late, I'm not sure I could forgive myself if this did as well.

And, as for that, I happen to find helping others relaxing. I can bring my flute if that makes it seem like more of a holiday.

Well, I don't mind most creatures. Not the fondest of squirrels they have a tendency to be little thieves but nature is a wondrous thing.

Take your time, I'm not likely to run off out of a Starship. I suppose I could try...

depends on what i'm thinking about when i go to sleep, really.

oh no not a wrinkle!! spock how could you let yourself be seen in such a state.

i think you could.

You shouldn't be so careless with all that.

Do you need my help?

It wasn't intentional. It just happened.

Uhhh... yeah, pretty sure I could use some help now. I'm not budging. Got something to dissolve it?

CASUALLY DUMPS AVIA ON EVERYONE

[personal profile] trillionspots 2017-02-17 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
There wouldn't happen to be a Vulcan equivalent to humans giving each other sweets or flowers when they've caused upset, would there?

Not that Vulcans get upset, of course. Just. Theoretically.
[VULCANS TOTALLY GET UPSET.]
kosu: (Default)

I see no problem with this

[personal profile] kosu 2017-02-20 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Vulcans do not get upset in such a fashion that would require an equivalent.

However, when offense has been made, it is acceptable to regain favor by presenting a token of esteem, such as flowers, an art piece or musical composition, or a carefully prepared treat.
trillionspots: (ukgk)

8D Maybe she and Spock could trade CMO's :P Though Bones would be just as bad actually...

[personal profile] trillionspots 2017-02-20 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course not. [Thank Starfleet for small favours like not everything being a video call because her mouth twitches slightly when she writes that.]

Well, I can certainly manage most of those. Though I'm sure I'll cause further offence by having insufficient good taste.
kosu: (Default)

spock would probably (not) love having another vulcan on the ship

[personal profile] kosu 2017-03-04 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
If it is without artifice, no matter how poorly fashioned or in bad taste, it should not cause offense, as no offense was intended.

[ Though it might end up in the trash rather than respected. Depending. ]
trillionspots: (ffhjj)

but they've always been so good to spock... uh huh.

[personal profile] trillionspots 2017-03-04 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
I should introduce you to my CMO some day. She's a real treat.

But I shall endeavour to find something, I'm a little familiar with Vulcan art.

opps...

[personal profile] damnitman 2017-04-04 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Bones had gotten used to Spock just being around, them orbiting around each other. But there were things like conferences and diplomatic meetings that at times pulled them apart. He was earthside, giving a series of lectures on vaccines and how to work them into populations to prevent outbreaks.

Spock was on New Vulcan for a few more days, before joining him at the Acadamy for restocking the Enterprise.

He tries to remember what time it is on New Vulcan, but can remember, he rolls over in the bed and grabs his comm.

Hey there.

Leonard. Do you require something?

[ it's still middle of the afternoon for Spock, and though he is in the middle of an experiment, the computer is compiling data and thus does not require his full and complete attention ]

[personal profile] damnitman 2017-04-04 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
No. I just miss you, is all. Sappy and 'illogical' I know, but I am human after all.
mindmeld: (010.)

[personal profile] mindmeld 2017-04-04 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
As it has been a change is the status, it is not necessarily illogical.
damnitman: By nikki4noo (Default)

[personal profile] damnitman 2017-04-04 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm going to read that as I miss you too. How are things going there? Trying to think of a pet name that doesn't look stupid when I type it out. heh.
mindmeld: (030.)

[personal profile] mindmeld 2017-04-04 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
My research is progressing satisfactorily. The VSA expansion is near completion, which means that more individuals will have time to focus on other matters.

Why do you need a pet name? Did you acquire a pet during my absense?
damnitman: By nikki4noo (Default)

[personal profile] damnitman 2017-04-06 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I can tell you know what I meant even through text. Well, Satisfactory is code for something is bothering you, it's only a little above sufficient in Pointy Eared Elf speak.
mindmeld: (Default)

[personal profile] mindmeld 2017-04-06 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I beg your pardon. I am not an elf.

It is simply an illogical, emotional reaction to the research I am conducting. As it involves the cross-breeding of native plant species to those grown from seeds of Vulcan-that-was, it is a reminder of all we have lost. I shall meditate further on it and progress shall be improved tomorrow.
damnitman: By nikki4noo (Default)

[personal profile] damnitman 2017-04-11 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Spock... nothing illogical about having a reaction to what you are doing. Nothing negative about it either. So don't start going down that path either. How many times to I have to tell you it's unhealthy to bottle stuff up? I mean I am happy you told me, and I'm not saying you need to say this stuff to everyone. I just want you to know you can talk to me. Or text.
almostdubois: (because I won't stop chasing it)

[personal profile] almostdubois 2017-04-18 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Commander, I hope I am not disturbing you.

[The schedule says that she should be awake, and Vulcans were rarely late but you never knew.]

Doctor McCoy said you would need a Doctor on the away mission in five hours, and has suggested I go as she is otherwise engaged but has said I best ask you if I suited your needs or if you require a more senior officer.

Which I would understand, though you will find my record to be exceptional.
[Okay, admittedly McCoy had phrased things a whole lot less delicately, and a lot of what she was busy with was "avoiding goddamn transporters" and grumbling (fondly) about Spock maybe not thinking she could hold her own and that she had better ask before showing up, or that Spock wanting McCoy out of some imagined Vulcan spite... but Carys really wasn't going to get between that. No thank you.]

kosu: (( 004 ) not listening)

[personal profile] kosu 2017-04-22 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
[ Spock is not sleeping, as it is not a lie to say she requires less sleep than humans. ]

Dr. McCoy is otherwise engaged for most missions, unless directly ordered. Most curious.

Allow me a moment to review your record.

[ It does not actually take her a minute because all Spock needs to do is gather the name and recall Carys' record, which is simple enough. She knows the records of most officers on the ship, and it takes almost no time to compare her proficiency against the needs of the mission. ]

You are acceptable. This is your first away mission, I notice.
almostdubois: (orphaned at birth and fifteen; a burden)

[personal profile] almostdubois 2017-04-23 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[A more nervous young doctor might be checking for a reply every few seconds, but Carys refused. It had often seemed to her the more impatient you got for a Vulcan reply the more they seemed to make you wait, even if they had no way of knowing you were slowly developing a twitch.

So Carys put the old trays in the replicator for them to be recycled, she began to redress the beds all in that short time, and then her communicator buzzed at her workstation.

Dr McCoy was probably just glad Spock had replied before Carys recleaned and rearranged the entire sickbay.

Not that she was nervous. At all.]

I am glad. Yes, Commander, though I have been off-world many times before I joined Starfleet. My mother was a Doctor as well.
